If you loved Camila Cabello’s hairstyle at the 2022 Met Gala, you are in for a real treat! Andrew Fitzsimons, the hairstylist for several high-profile figures, including Jennifer Lopez and Madonna, shared how he created this look for Camila on Instagram.
Fitzsimons used his own high-end line of hair care and styling products to create this look. Products are available at Ulta Beauty. Here is what he shared:
“The very first step was to dampen Camila’s hair, then spray AFI 10-in-1 Leave-in Conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends of her hair.”
“After priming and prepping, I spritzed Model Volume Wave Spray throughout and then diffused her locks to help accentuate her natural waves.”
“Then I sprayed one of my favorite products, Apres Sexe Texture Spray, to achieve loose, touchable texture, giving it a bit of extra hold for an up-do.”
“I gathered the hair with my fingers and pulled and secured it into a high but loose ponytail, spraying a few more spritz of the Apres Sexe Texture Spray to further help give it that effortless tousled look.”
“I then twisted the pieces of hair into a messy top knot, securing it with pins, maintaining a loose look. I then pulled a few loose strands out to help frame her face, to keep the look soft.”
But he wasn’t quite finished. He revealed that when Camila’s Prabal Gurung dress arrived to the room he was inspired by the floral components and asked Prabal if he had any extra flowers.
“I tucked the flowers tactfully around the bun, versus over the bun as I was inspired by how the flowers mimicked a “peek-a-boo” effect on the dress itself.”
“I then set the look with hard strong hold hairspray, and finished off with Prism Shine Invisible Shine Spray for a pop of red carpet shine.”
