What Is a Slicked Back Hairstyle?
Also known as a ducktail, the slicked back hairstyle popular in the 1950s employed the use of an oil-based styling product to “slick back” the hair on all sides creating a vertical line in the back of the head from the crown to the nape of the neck. (Men who sported this style were often called “greasers”)
Today the term is used more loosely to define any haircut that is slicked back away from the face with a styling product that creates a “wet” look.
